Ander's senses were ringing at full alarm when he woke up and bolted to his feet, looking around for the threat.
Jerik waved from the other side of the room, a squirt gun in his hand. "See, Tyra, in this case, you don't want to pinch his nose and cover his mouth to wake him up because he's likely to rip you to shreds faster than Commander Maientra on a bad day." Tyra nodded, thoughtful. "Happy Birthday, by the way."
Ander glared at him, but caught the package tossed in his direction anyway. "What's this?"
"Your present," Jerik said. "Duh."

Ander looked at the sky, checked his watch, and estimated that the sun was going to set soon. Hopefully Jerik and Tyra had at least made it to the coast by now—Lethya was starting to get a fever, and he wasn't sure how much longer she could hold on outdoors. Abhaya was curled up by the cot, clearly having put all fears and doubts towards her 'mother' aside, and wouldn't leave other than to eat and drink. Anthina was amusing herself making a card house, but whenever she turned away, Mihir blew it down and hid behind a bag.

Well, I got bored of doing lineart for the next comic, and felt like painting something instead... and I had this convenient sketch I'd scanned a few days ago... And felt like doing another speedpaint...so...

Heeere's Kairi! Seriously, this poor girl does not get enough love from the fandom. Most people seem to hate her for the sole reason that she is Sora's love interest instead of Riku. ...I'm not going to get started on this topic as it drives me up a wall. Let's just say that Kairi is cool. Cool. And I felt bad for her while she was on the island; it wasn't her fault she forgot about Sora at all, and if I were in her place I'd feel wretched...

Hence this picture! Quick-n-dirty speedpaint from yours truly. I forgot how long it took to sketch; it took a little over two hours to paint. I'm getting the hang of this speedpainting thing, methinks.

Bonus points to whoever figures out the other character in this picture. It isn't that hard.

I completely agree with her not getting enough love. Seriously. People think she's weak and good for nothing. She has a lot of spirit within her, most Kairi haters don't realize that. Agreed with the whole Riku and Sora. -___- Oh come on. Can't two guys be the best of friends caring for one another without being suspected as gay!? D8

Anyway, this art is beautiful. I love the tears that's rolling down Kairi's face. It's like she's trying so hard to remember the boy that she cared for, other than Riku, but just couldn't. That is what is tearing her up inside for not remembering his voice or his name.

And I love the Namine reflection too. A very nice touch!

I completely agree with you! Poor Kairi gets so abused! I think she's a wonderful character. A little one-dimensional, but that's not her fault.

Oh pshaw. Hating her for supposedly coming in between Sora and Riku is saying she CAN.
She's really badly written and comes off as selfish and uncaring. "Let's take the raft and go, just the two of us"? I'm sorry, even if it was really a joke, I wasn't laughing.
Neither was Sora.
