Ander could only stare at the shell of Lethya, feeling empty—feeling like the connection between reality as it was and as he knew it had broken. He knew he was in shock. It was far too early for Lady Iaren to be awake. In fact, it was far too early for someone to be calling her. But she was indeed being called, and pretending the ringing didn't exist wasn't making it go away.

Hurhur... you can't help but pity poor Lester; he probably got hit on the head by a pistol that was going at almost terminal velocity :3

Anyways, great dialogue and plot :D

I wonder why it took me so long to finally get around to commenting on this, heh :-P

Does Lester's bad luck kick in because of his knife-gunning the cables or him flinging the gun and weathervane? I think your entry is most striking in dialogue and dynamic shots. The pacing in some scenes is a little abrupt (like the fight between the two men on (in?) the roof of the bank, but I suppose that is part of a snapshots effect?
